GUIDELINES FOR MONOGRAPH REJECTION

In our commitment to upholding the highest standards of academic publishing, our publisher recognizes the necessity of implementing retraction procedures for monographs. This mechanism is vital to address issues stemming from inadvertent or intentional errors, data falsification, biased authorship representation, or conflicts of interest that may surface post-publication.

The protocol for monograph retraction involves the following potential actions:

  1. Assessment of Corrective Measures: Evaluate the feasibility of rectifying content in the published monograph without immediate retraction. This evaluation is triggered when identifying conflicts of interest, bias in authorship, or minor errors that do not significantly impact the overall significance, applicability, or effectiveness of the published results.

  2. Initiation of Investigation: Commence an investigation into situations that may warrant monograph retraction. Investigations cover instances such as plagiarism, conflicts of interest, data falsification, manipulation, violations of publication ethics, and erroneous published results that could have negative consequences.

  3. Removal from Electronic and Indexing Resources: Remove the monograph from the publisher's electronic resources and indexing databases if the investigation reveals:

    • Potential negative consequences from the monograph's use.
    • Violations of legal rights.
    • Defamatory content.
    • Potential legal disputes.
    • Inappropriate disclosure of personal data without proper consent.
  4. Retraction Notification: Generate a retraction notice for indexing resources, providing essential information to identify the monograph:

    • Monograph title and authors or a link to the retracted monograph.
    • Information on the reason for retraction and the initiator of the retraction.
    • Potentially, evidence supporting the reason for retraction. The notice may also request prompt and public disclosure of relevant information about the retraction, including a response from the authors if applicable. It will only be made available after obtaining conclusive evidence supporting the retraction's validity. All retraction notifications are subject to prior agreement with the institutions affiliated with the authors under investigation, following COPE guidelines for collaboration between research institutions and journals regarding research integrity cases.

Our publisher remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in academic publishing, treating retraction seriously as a means to address issues that may compromise the integrity and reliability of published monographs.
