The object of research is fire retardant paints for wood on a mineral (geopolymer) basis.
The aim of this work is to study the fire-retardant properties of wood paints on alkaline aluminosilicate.
Main scientific results imply the following.
As a result of fire tests, it was found that the developed compositions of fire-resistant mineral paints based on an alkaline aluminosilicate binder in the (Na, K) 2O-Al2O3-nSiO2-mH2O system are to non-flammable and hardly flammable.
Scope of application is fire protection of products and structures made of solid and glued wood.
Limitations for practical use are exclusion of contact with open atmosphere.
